The proposed Country Park Hillside improvements for Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department in concert with the Greensboro Science Center will provide a regional attraction that will excite and engage both first time visitors and day to day park users. The design will strengthen and celebrate the connection between Country Park and the Greensboro Science Center.
The ‘Carousel House’ was under construction during the programming phase of this project, and has been thoughtfully integrated into the design approach. The hillside project location comprises just under five (5) acres that will provide a gateway into Country Park linking Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, Jaycee Park, Greensboro Science Center, and Forest Lawn cemetery, establishing the Battleground Parks District. These combined 400 acres of diverse open spaces located within minutes of downtown Greensboro provides a diverse range of activities for an estimated 300,000 Greensboro residents and guests.
