Michael is a Senior Landscape Designer at Surface 678 with a range of experience in land development, commercial, civic & public open space projects. He employs a site sensitive design process that aims to enhance a sense of place and community. Michael is passionate about parks and urban design with an emphasis on multifunctioning spaces that are sensitive to the natural environment. He advocates for design that is hinged on analysis and research to create sustainable landscapes that tell a story of place.

At Surface Michael has been heavily involved in the preparation of construction documents for the new Bandwidth Campus in Raleigh, which includes outdoor dining areas, natural swales, sports fields, a large pond and amphitheater space. In his spare time Michael enjoys hiking, playing Australian football, and spending time at the beach.
