Daniel’s favorite plant is muhlenbergia filipes, Sweet grass. “I love sweet grass because it has such a significant cultural and historical role in the town I grew up in. This plant has completely shaped the arts and crafts community in the low-country while also having an attractive appearance. In the same way, landscape architects have the ability to shape the landscape in a way that brings value to the community and highlights the identity of a place. To me, this is such a powerful method of design and why I chose to pursue this profession.”
