North Carolina Museum of Art Park Master Plan
Surface 678’s Master Plan for the nation’s largest museum sculpture park aligns the campus’s 164-acres of rolling Piedmont meadows and woodlands to the overall mission of the Museum as a steward of natural and cultural resources. The Art Park Master Plan broadens and diversifies the visitor experience by creating an innovative destination for art, education and recreation. Adjacent to existing and new Museum facilities, the Park creates an environment that showcases original, site-inspired works by artists, creates a network of trails that connects to the larger city-wide greenway system, and focuses on the ecological function of the Park landscape.
The NCMA Park Master Plan has guided improvements to facilities, trails, and natural areas on the Raleigh campus since its adoption.
