UNC Chapel Hill

The Arts Common Master Plan responds to a dramatic change in planned building density within the 14-acre Arts Precinct, integrating three new academic buildings, expanded museum galleries, performance venues and academic space at three existing buildings. Central to the Plan is a new quadrangle that connects pedestrian walkways from the interior of campus to downtown Chapel Hill and features an Arts Walk and sculpture garden. The quadrangle is designed as a “big tree-and-lawn” landscape, with an informal layout of brick walkways, patterned after the original campus quad, McCorkle Place.
